Forgive me, I have poor comprehension skills.

I want to make a bet that Newcastle WILL get relegated this season. Do I hit the "back" or "lay" button?

The odds being quoted are around -180. Thanks.

Cheers. What's the other one for? If I think they WON'T get relegated I assume?

The other one LAY- if you offer odds lets say @2.00 (for Newcastle not to get relegated ) and if they don't you lose your bet .
In simple words .
LAY is like been a BOOKIE.

AKA lay = taking the favorite
Back = taking the underdog

Right?

Right?

Not really. You can back and lay underdogs and favorites alike.

Backing just means you support that option. Laying means you're betting against that option.

ie. Man Utd to win

Back 1.35 (-286) / Lay 1.36 (+277)

Back is taking Man U to win. Lay is taking Man U not to win.
